COMPANY MISSION
Hiring is broken. We built the brand/product to fix it.
HireMeUp didn't have a brand — it had a belief. I came on as the first hire, stepping into a founder-level role to build everything from the ground up. Brand strategy, visual identity, messaging, product UX/UI — there was no template, no team, no existing system to inherit. Just a conviction that hiring was broken and a blank canvas to prove it could be done better.
This was also the first company where I fully developed a Brand Brain — using AI to codify the identity, scale the voice, and give the team a living system they could grow with. HireMeUp became the proof of concept for how I work now: building brands that think, not just look good.

Visual style and why it matters
Traditional PDF resumes were designed to present qualifications in a standardized, one-dimensional format. While effective for listing experience and skills, they often fail to capture the personality, creativity, and individuality of the person behind the document. For Gen Z—a generation raised in a digital world of personal profiles, social content, and self-expression—identity is an important part of how they communicate their value.
Visual representation allows candidates to showcase who they are, not just what they've done. Through imagery, design, and personal storytelling, individuals can express their unique character, interests, and perspective in ways that text alone cannot. Rather than forcing everyone into the same template, a visual-first approach creates a more authentic and engaging experience that helps employers connect with the person behind the resume and make more meaningful hiring decisions.
HireMeUp Product
Philosophy.
HireMeUp transforms hiring from a static, resume-first process into a dynamic, people-first experience. Instead of forcing candidates to be reduced to bullet points on a PDF, HireMeUp allows employers to discover the person behind the resume through short-form video profiles, personality, and real human interaction. By combining the familiar swipe-and-scroll experience people already use on platforms like TikTok and Instagram, job seekers can showcase who they are, while employers can quickly evaluate culture fit, communication skills, and potential in seconds rather than weeks.
Design system.
Material Design 2 served as the foundation for developing HireMeUp, providing a proven design system that accelerated product development while ensuring consistency, accessibility, and scalability across the platform. Given the start-up life, we leveraged Google's established design principles, we were able to focus less on solving common UI challenges and more on creating innovative experiences that help candidates showcase their identity and connect with employers in a more meaningful way.
